If there is anything self-inflicted that is bringing down America and the rest of the world faster and more completely than religion, I am hard-pressed to find it. It amazes me how many so called, “intelligent” people can’t see the dire effects Religion had and are is still having on the human race. Looking back throughout history, how many hundreds of millions of innocents have died in “Gods” name? How many cities have been destroyed, children murdered, women raped and killed because someone was intent on inflicting their God and, their religion on others. Yeah I know, “have faith,” “God works in mysterious ways,” etc. I call Bullshit on this!
Of course the millions of Zealots of every faith, believe their God to be the one true God. While, the Gods of others are deemed “false gods” What religion doesn’t indoctrinate their young, so they can later man the armies to defend the faith? How many millions of soldiers have died trying to prove this God, or that God, to be the one sole and true Supreme Being?
Religions rely on the ignorance of the masses and their simple manipulation. The foundation of any belief in God is that “he” is the only one true God. Oh, and by the way, if we have to massacre a few million people to get our point across, well that’s OK.
Funny how in America, we are brainwashed by the beliefs of each preceding generation, and are so willing and eager to get in line and follow the same destructive path. I can understand in the distant past, when few were educated, superstitions ruled and people feared what they didn’t understand (which was most everything), that manipulation and scare tactics would easily work. What gets me however, is how in today’s world (and in the most recent past), with so many more educated people, these tactics still hold sway.
Does this mean I am not Spiritual, or I do not understand there is some higher force or power pulling our Earthly strings, NO of course not. My argument is with the established religions or (tools of control), that instill fear in humans, and cause the death of millions. Most people are essentially, in the forest and can’t see the trees.
It is true that America is a Christian nation, whose Founders based it’s creation on their Judeo-Christian principles. But are we to take for granted so easily, and without argument, that those principles were right?
One of the most difficult things for the human mind to comprehend is what many refer to as; “the big picture.” It’s true we can not see the forest for the trees but, that doesn’t mean our minds shouldn’t be able to imagine the forest. We can not see the Universe from our planet but, we should be able to imagine it, if we can free our mind to do so. This “bigger picture” viewpoint is apparently, beyond the capabilities of most people. Who else could they be controlled and manipulated so easily?
Only when we see that blind belief in a “Religion’ is nothing more than another method of “crowd control”, can we begin to free our minds to understand ourselves and the life around us. It is the shackle that holds us down while destroying more while creating little. It has left nothing but a path of destruction and bodies scattered across fields around the world, throughout History.
The Marquis De Sade, Karl Marx and Nicolai Lenin all referred to religion in their writings as “an opium of the masses.” Perhaps, truer words were never spoken.
